Two men were arrested after attempting to rob a bank after calling in advance. Fairfield police said the two men tried to rob the People’s United Bank on Stratfield Road. Police said the bank received a phone call around 2:40 p.m. asking the bank to have a bag of money ready for the criminals, because the bank was going to be robbed. The two were greeted by police when they arrived at the bank to take the money. Police said they arrested a 16-year-old man, whom they did not identify, and Albert Bailey, 27. Both are charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree threatening. According to police, Bailey was charged in 2003 with robbing another People’s Bank. Idiots. This has to be the easiest bank robbery arrest EVER! Can’t believe they called first!
